Meet Our Herd

Marija’s journey with horses began in 2006 and grew into a deep passion for mindful connection between horse and rider. She combines years of experience in training and guiding with a calm, intuitive approach that builds trust and confidence. As the founder of the project, Marija leads treks and horsemanship courses, helping people rediscover harmony with nature and themselves through the rhythm of the ride.

Aleksejs’ journey with horses began in 1997. He trains riders with a classical cavalry approach and enjoys working with horses in film projects and historical reenactments. As a guide and trainer in the team, he also manages practical tasks, sharing his deep knowledge of history, from the First World War to the Middle Ages and Napoleonic era, along every trail.

Sofja has grown up with horses, for her they are a natural part of life. She studies sound engineering and is passionate about music, Kendo, and Japanese culture. In the team, she helps with meals on trail stops, assists guests in the accommodations, and can accompany them on walks around Riga, offering mini city tours along the way.

Tatjana Anita brings warmth, humor, and care to every guest experience. She looks after accommodations, prepares meals, and manages the animals in the yard, including the dog and chickens. Fluent in German, Russian, and Latvian, she draws on her 20 years of living in Germany to make every stay comfortable and welcoming.

Born in 2018, Grachik is an Orlov Trotter mix and the respected leader of the herd. He is Marija’s personal horse, allowing no one else to ride him. Extremely sensitive and intelligent, Grachik combines alertness with deep trust — guiding the group with calm confidence and intuitive awareness of everything around him.

Born in 2020, Ivy Gunner — or simply Ivy — is a spirited and social horse who always stays close to Grachik. He trusts confident riders and follows their lead with precision and enthusiasm. Energetic yet responsive, Ivy brings lively energy and a sense of adventure to every ride.

Born in 2006, Bucefal is a Latvian Heavy Warmblood Horse — strong, confident, and fearless. The most experienced member of the herd, he often supports the lead horse when needed and helps guide new riders. With his smooth gaits and powerful yet calm nature, Bucefal is the horse you can always rely on.

Born in 2020, Vaudeville — or Woody — is a calm and thoughtful mix of trotter and Lithuanian draft horse. Reliable and steady on the trail, he rarely startles and always chooses his path with care. A bit stubborn at times, he makes up for it with endurance, balance, and a love for good meals.
