Welcome to a journey along one of Latvia’s most precious natural treasures — Piejūra Nature Park, stretching along the coast of the Gulf of Riga. This is not just a seaside ride — it’s an immersion into a living, breathing ecosystem, where every footstep and hoofbeat connects you with the rhythms of Baltic nature.
A protected coastal paradise
Piejūra Nature Park was founded in 1962 to protect the unique coastal ecosystems — from forested dunes to sandy beaches, from lakes to coastal meadows.

The park covers thousands of hectares along a more-than-30 km stretch of coastline — making it one of the largest and most ecologically significant coastal reserves in the region.

Over 80 % of the park is forests, while dunes, beaches and other natural biotopes complete the landscape mosaic.

This environment — a blend of pine forests, old boreal woods, coastal dunes and tranquil lakes — makes each ride an experience in a uniquely preserved coastal wilderness.
Rich biodiversity, birds & wildlife
Piejūra is part of a network of specially protected biotopes, safeguarding rare plant and animal species, as well as habitats that are becoming rare along developed coastlines.

The park lies along one of the major bird migration routes in Europe — from waterbirds in the estuaries to songbirds in the forests and meadows.

In certain spots (estuaries, reed beds, meadows), you may spot wetland birds, waders, migratory birds, maybe even raptors or owls if you’re lucky.

The variety of habitats — from dunes to lakes to woodlands — supports a high diversity of species: coastal grasses and rare plants, amphibians and bats (in registered bat-wintering sites near certain lakes), as well as numerous meadow and forest dwellers.

For riders — that means every turn, every path could bring a new natural encounter: birds calling, sea breeze rustling pine needles, and maybe a peaceful deer in a shadowy pine grove.

Why “ride with us” is more than a standard excursion

Because we offer more than a trail — we offer an authentic nature experience. On our rides, you don’t just pass through scenic landscapes, you become part of them. Thanks to the protected status of Piejūra, the environment remains relatively undisturbed: the forests are old, the dunes intact, the beaches wild.

You may hear coastal birds, smell pine and sea salt, feel wind through open space, sense the calm of a protected nature reserve.

And for those who love a touch of mystery and history, the park’s trails reveal more than just nature — near Kalngale and other areas, you can discover remnants of the past: old trenches, bunkers, and other traces of military heritage. Each path carries whispers of bygone times, blending local history with the timeless beauty and unique spirit of the Baltic coast.
